Do you have initiations?
Yes. We are a shamanic, Mystery-based, lineage Tradition. Our 3 Degree rites of initiation each convey a specific teaching, and are oathbound. They are based on Boniface Wolfsong's inner initiations, which he wrote down in ritual format.

Is initiation required to practice Lycian Wicca?
Yes and no. You do not have to be initiated to practice the public material of our Trad. However, you must be initiated by a qualified, recognized Lycian initiator to go through the 3 Degrees (our path to clergy, and where our specific Mystery teachings are given).

How does one become initiated?
The individual must ask for initiation. A recognized Lycian Wicca initiator determines whether the person is sufficiently trained and dedicated, and determines their readiness for advancement into the next Degree.

Are 3rd Degree initiates considered clergy?
No, we are a bit different there. 3rd Degree means you've completed the 3 levels of training. It does not convey clergy status. To become Lycian clergy, extra training and requirements are involved. You are not required to become clergy; if you choose to stop training at any time, that's OK.

How do you become a High Priest/ess in the Tradition?
We're not fond of using personal titles (we don't use "Lord" or "Lady," for instance), but as "High" is so commonly used in modern Wicca, the Tradition defines it as follows:
We're not fond of using personal titles (we don't use "Lord" or "Lady," for instance), but as "High" is so commonly used in modern Wicca, the Tradition defines it as follows:
- You are active clergy of the Trad during your training, designated as such by a qualified Lycian initiator. Active means, you are teaching students. Solitary practitioners (or doing an occasional workshop) do not meet this criteria.
- "High" means that not only have you achieved clergy status, but have raised someone else to that level. You have been both student and teacher, bringing someone to the same level as you. You are not "High" if your students are still at a lower level than clergy.
